A Sustainable Touch To The Farmers' Christmas Lights Tour

News 2 min read

We have committed to doing our part in offsetting the carbon emissions associated with this year's Farmers Christmas Lights Tour, an annual festive event supporting Garden House Hospice in Letchworth. As a corporate partner for the event, our team wanted to underscore our commitment to sustainability.

This year’s participation holds special significance for our founder Joel Buckland, who lives in Letchworth Garden City. This year's event fell on the eve of the 12th anniversary of Joel’s father's passing. His father received palliative care at Garden House Hospice during his battle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Joel’s involvement in the event this year is both a tribute to his father’s memory and a show of support for the hospice that provided such invaluable care during a difficult time.

Over 150 tractors from local farms, each decorated with incredible Christmas decorations, participated in this year’s event, parading through Baldock, Letchworth and Hitchin and bringing Christmas cheer. The parade is a much-anticipated highlight of the festive season in the area, with participants and spectators coming together to support the hospice.

As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility, we have gone beyond traditional corporate sponsorship by doing its part in offsetting the event's carbon footprint by planting 150 trees. This initiative aligns with our broader mission to encourage sustainable practices across their work sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, and social impact.

Joel Buckland, Founder of We Do Stories, shared: “This event is particularly meaningful to me, as it marks a personal milestone in remembering my father. It’s an honour to partner with Farmers Christmas Lights Tour to support the work of Garden House Hospice. But our commitment goes beyond just the celebration. We’re proud to contribute to reducing the event’s carbon footprint by planting 150 trees because we believe sustainability should be a priority.”

We Do Stories has long been a sustainability champion, integrating eco-friendly practices into its operations and advocating for responsible strategies across its client base. By helping offset the carbon emissions of this year’s tractor event, the agency hopes to set an example for others in the industry.
